Contributor FAQ’s

How do I get my video to ICTV or ICTV PLAY?

If you have access to Dropbox, you can send us a Dropbox link via email. Alternatively, if your video is under 2GB, we can send you a link and you can upload your video. Email us at info@ictv.com.au and we can send you details. If your video is over 2GB, give us a call on 08 8952 3118. In most cases, we will ask you to send a DVD or a USB drive with your video file.

What format does ICTV want?

We would prefer high resolution video files, preferably Pro Res 422 Pal with audio at 48 Khz. Aspect ratio 16:9 (ICTV will transcode videos to the formats that it requires for various platforms). However, if this information is confusing, just send us the best copy of your video (yes, we can rip from DVD). Alternatively, we can download from your Vimeo or YouTube account if you have a high-quality version of your media online already.

Titles?

Every video must have opening titles in the video, apart from music video clips or animations. ICTV can insert generic titles if you provide us with the information but we much prefer you create your own titles and credits.

Programming not Sponsorship or Promotion

If your video is clearly promoting an idea or organisation, then the material may not be assessed as ‘Programming’ and will not appear on Channel 601. It may, however, still be approved for ICTV PLAY. If you have a sponsorship campaign or would like ICTV to consider a promotional video for broadcast, then please refer to our Sponsorship [link] section.

Watermarks

ICTV strongly recommends against the use of watermarks or bugs as they may interfere with bugs and graphics used during broadcasts.

What platforms will my material be played on?

Your material will only be used on the platforms you specified when you completed your Contributor Agreement form.
